Mission

Our mission is to work with all individuals who have an interest in learning to assist in their development and training to become the best in a craft of their desire. Our goal is to decrease the high school dropout rate, youth gang violence, drugs, & teen pregnancy, to have an open door where no one is turned away regardless of whom or what they are. We provide youth with a balanced perspective to see that there are other options at the end, and it’s up to them whether they want to choose an outlet in the arts or stem program to express themselves.

History

The Garfield Institute of Music specializes in the Arts & Leadership; this organization dates back to 1996, we strive working with youth to help increase their involvement in the community for example: (Youth participating in drives and fundraising, volunteering services in the community for different events hosted by other organizations, also creating different outlets for the community making them aware of the upcoming events and problems youth in the community face). We focus on implementing and organizing programs (Mentoring, tutoring, After School programs…. Music, Dance, Theater, Leadership Programs, STEM Program, & Community workshops dealing with awareness), that can help youth get connected and better understand how the schools & community can help support the interest of their future.
