GIM CONTRACT SCHOOL-BASED SERVICES
The Garfield Institute of Music has served over hundreds of children and students in public, charter, & community organizations. Our staff is highly trained and knowledgeable individuals that are placed in high-risk areas that require the most attention, providing in-school support and services for students in need of additional academic enrichment, arts, & leadership training. Our staff is dedicated and committed to each child allowing them the chance to receive the same services and opportunities as private institutions.
Our services are reliable and effective for increasing discipline, self-awareness, classroom management, academic enrichment, & leadership within the program; with students & administration.

Here at the Garfield Institute of Music we still provide services to all organizations whether they are equipped with a musical instrument or not.
Inspired beginning Dance/Band Course. The dance course will teach basic introduction to dance, body toning, & flexibility, Introduction to Ballet & Jazz.
The Music course allows students to choose an instrument (flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion), learn to play the instrument, read basic music nomenclature, and be able to understand basic music theory… This includes (3) days a week of instruction during or after school.
Inspired Intermediate Dance/Band Course. The Dance course will teach beginning ballet, jazz,& modern, with a more advanced level of body toning, flexibility, dance technique, marching, &a series of warm-up sequences.
The music course allows students to advance from the beginning band level, learn to sight-read, and play 5 of 12 major scales. The intermediate course is designed to enhance the marching band course, by working on advanced level music theory and by requiring each instrumentalist to achieve a higher level of musicianship. This includes (4) days a week of instruction during school, and (3) days of after-school instruction. This includes (1) concert per semester.
Advanced Marching Band/Dance
The marching band is a performance group that typically meets 10 months out of a year. The course will teach Ballet; Jazz, & Hip-Hop at an advanced level, demonstrating body toning, and flexibility, advanced dance technique, marching, and a series of advance warm-up routines.
This course teaches students how to high step and play simultaneously, create and perform dance routines, extending through the year to perform for large audiences. The Marching Band course teaches students 12 major scales, prepares them for college marching band auditions, and provides students with academic enhancement prior to band rehearsal. This includes (4) days a week of instruction during school, and (3) days of after-school instruction. This includes (1) concert per semester.
After-school- Drumline (only) Auxiliary (only) Horn-Line (only)
The music & dance course will teach the exact same material as the beginning Band/Dance program, using the same curriculum. This includes 3 days a week of drum-line, auxiliary, or horn instructions outside of the school day. This also includes performances on an as need basis.

The music & dance course will teach the exact same material as the beginning Band/Dance program, using the same curriculum. This includes up to 4 days a week of instruction during the normal school day. This also includes performances as needed.
Auxiliary & Drumline
The music & dance course will teach the exact same material as the beginning Band/Dance program, using the same curriculum. This includes 3 days a week of drum & auxiliary instruction outside of the school day. This also includes performances as needed.
